The AV rated firm was founded by three partners who collectively have over a century of experience in Water Law, Environmental Law, Construction, Hydropower, Mining, Irrigation and Land Use Practices. John Rosholt is known and respected around the west for his leadership on water rights, including his past service as the Director and President of the National Water Resources Association. Albert Barker and John Simpson bring extensive litigation backgrounds and a wealth of substantive knowledge. Albert Barker was appointed by Governor Otter in 2013 to the Idaho Water Resource Board. John Simpson has served as a member of the National Water Resources Association's Policy Development Committee since 2001, and in 2010 was appointed by the Governor of the State of Idaho as a representative to the Western States Water Council. Travis Thompson and Shelley Davis have become partners of the firm and bring another combined twenty years of experience representing clients in the firm's emphasized practice areas. Travis Thompson currently heads the Twin Falls office.

The firm has a strong foundation covering a wide range of water, environmental, natural resource, construction, business and litigation legal issues. Our strong understanding of these legal issues is bolstered by the firms longstanding relationship with its clients and its many years serving their needs through water and water right permitting and transfer proceedings, opposition proceedings and adjudications, water quality challenges, both legal and regulatory, licensing and development of both small and large hydropower facilities, and counseling our clients on policy issues ranging from developing state legislation to keeping them informed about and participating in arising federal regulatory policy and planning issues. Our clients have strong relationships with the Bureau of Reclamation and on their behalf we work closely with the Bureau of Reclamation. The firm has developed extensive experience with the ever changing environmental permitting and enforcement climate, including trial and regulatory experience with CERCLA, RCRA, Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, underground storage tanks, groundwater contamination, PCBs, and TSCA, asbestos, NEPA compliance, Corps of Engineers wetlands permits, and federal, state, and local land use permitting.
