Mr. Thompson graduated from the University of Idaho College of Law in 2000. He joined Barker Rosholt & Simpson, LLP, in 2001, and was named a partner in the firm in 2007.

Travis regularly represents clients before state and federal agencies and courts. His practice focuses on advising irrigation districts and canal companies as well as individual water users, in water rights permitting, adjudication, and administration. Travis also works on general business matters and litigation. Travis is a past chair of the Idaho State Bar's Water Law Section, and is a member of the Fifth District Bar Association and Theron W. Ward American Inn of Court. Travis also participates on the resolutions and legislative committees for the Idaho Water Users' Association.

Travis is a lifelong resident of southern Idaho, and attended both college and law school at the University of Idaho. While in college Travis served an internship for Governor Phil Batt focusing on natural resources and environmental issues. Travis is active in the community and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the University of Idaho Alumni Association. He has a passion for the outdoors and waters. He loves to fly-fish, golf, hunt and raft. Travis and his wife Mandi have three sons.
